As an organization we are dedicated to improving the awareness of our staff members with regard to what constitutes good journalism.  It is our expressed belief that the path to writing like the best begins with reading the best.  To that end, we have developed a database of inspiring articles in a variety of categories from sources across the globe.  Struggling writing that lead?  This is a great place to start.  Not sure how to turn that nauseating movie-watching experience into a compelling diatribe against the film?  Look no further.

In addition to the database, we have also compiled some resources on the structure of articles themselves – the nuts and bolts of how to write a lead, understand the inverted pyramid, and deal with AP style.  For those students who have had Journalism 101 this will be a great area to review.  For those who haven’t, it’s a way to prime yourself for the reality of a writing style drastically unlike what you’ve written in the past.

The majority of information compiled here is presented as educational material under the doctrine of fair use as described in sections 107-118 of title 17 of the U.S. Code.  See for more information.
